Lowe’s Employee Bitten by Copperhead Snake
May 18, 2025

1lowesToday’s story was passed along to my desk by fellow co-worker Terry Beidelman by way of USA Today.  While working at a Lincoln Count, NC Lowe’s store an employee was bitten by a copperhead snake that was hiding inside a tree in the gardening section.

According to the East Lincoln Fire Company, the employee was bitten by a 4-and-a-half foot copperhead snake.

The employee remains in the hospital under evaluation. Copperhead snakes are common in North Carolina. Though they are venomous snakes, it is a fairly mild venom, but can cause an allergic reaction in some people.

The fire department warned that these snakes like trees and that an incident like this could happen at any store that sells trees so people should be mindful and alert.
