March 14, 2026

A Cleveland are man plead guilty on Dec. 1 to a misdemeanor count of workers comp fraud when he was caught working while receiving injured workers benefits.

Angelo Reillo Sr., 32 of Garfield Heights was fined $50 and order to pay restitution to the BWC in the amount of $3,354.

The BWC’s Special Investigations Department acted upon a tip they received and found Reillo working as a painter and supervisor from October until December 3rd of 2014 while receiving living maintenance benefits. Living maintenance compensation is designed for workers who are actively participating in a BWC-approved vocational rehabilitation plan. The benefits are supposed to end after the injured worker returns to full-time work.

Agents determined that Reillo was gainfully employed while receiving living maintenance benefits which is not allowed.
