Healthcare Solutions is presenting a lot of great data on understanding the opioid problem here at RIMS. The focus is in using technology to watch the drug use and indicators that the drugs are becoming a problem.

Physician dispensing is a big concern. HCS actually ran a 2 state pilot to target physician dispensers and use heavy communication(including in person) to discourage the doc. HCS also worked to push getting the networks back in the drivers seat.

There wasn’t a clear outcome of their trial presented, but it is great to see that they are trying different strategies to address this problem.
