MA Towns Receiving Rebates on Premiums

Two small towns in Massachusetts who participated in a voluntary loss prevention and risk management program offered by their insurer received rebates as a result of the incentive. They are insured by Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA).

Amesbury, MA received $34,978 back on their workers comp and property and casualty insurance costs. Newbury, MA received $2,864. Both towns plan on putting their rebates toward premiums for next year.

City employees went through training courses on things live active shooter situations, plow operations, and even Taser training.

MIIA, the non-profit insurance arm of the Massachusetts Municipal Association, awarded over $2.5 million in rebates to their members.
